The Ecumenical Millennium Committee (EMC) was formed in 1999 to prepare for the Third Christian Millennium. In addition to sponsoring the annual Ecumenical Prayer Service observed as part of the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity, the Committee is a catalyst for ecumenical courtesy, hospitality and information in the Chicago area. The Committee’s name was changed in 2010 to Ecumenism Metro Chicago.
